Review - Stance Off-Road and All-Road Cycling Socks

I first tried Stance socks a number of years ago, when I was sent a pair of their bright and colourful patterned running socks. The brand has an incredible following, and with good reason; the socks both perform superbly and look exceptional. Their latest jump into the world of cycling socks is an exciting new extension to the range.

Stance socks are made to look interesting and distinctive. Yet, unlike some 'standout brands' they also offer industry-leading performance in terms of cushioning, fit, and feel.

The two technologies that contribute most significantly to the performance of all the socks within the Stance range are the Feel360 supportive fit, and the silver ion fabric technology.

Good fitting socks make far more difference than people realise; a sock with the correct cushioning, arch support and heel support can make as much difference to comfort as the shoes that you wear. The Stance Feel360 technology provides a true wrap-around feel, which delivers great comfort and an improved performance.

The silver ion fabric technology found in the Stance products is a specialist fabric development that reduces the build-up of odour causing bacteria within the socks. Even if you cannot smell your own feet, I am sure your running and cycling friends will be grateful for this tech, especially on multi-day bike tours.

The new cycling sock range from Stance consists of specialist Off-Road and All-Round cycling socks. The Off-Road socks are a more cushioned pile and come in some cool and quirky camo designs as well as more subtle colours—all of which have a high 7" cuff designs. The All-Road collection is a lighter cushion level, with a fantastic range of designs and a mix of cuff heights. Most of the socks are a Poly blend of nylon, polyester, cotton, and elastane; except for the Bike Solids Wool options, which also mix merino into the blend.

The Stance Bike socks really are exceptional. They are quite dearly priced at around £15 per pair, but they are especially well made, and impressively durable. They even have neat little reflective dots on the rear, for added visibility—I like touches like that.

There is nothing pants about these socks, at all. (Stance also make pants! Damn. Those are super funky cool!)
