It pays to be organised, on epic adventures and in everyday life. Bellroy is an Australian brand that makes everyday organisation that much easier, more practical and stylish; I have used their Elements Phone Wallet for every bike ride I have been on in the last seven years. In this review post, I look at another new and updated product within their range: the Bellroy Travel Folio – your solution to being organised, safe and stylish when travelling for work or pleasure.

The Bellroy Travel Folio received a significant redesign for 2023, but its predecessor was a long standing favourite with many of my travelling companions, and I have always been keen to put one into my own luggage when jetting or sailing off on long trips and adventures. The concept is simple: a compact leather wallet that can house your passport, cards, travel documents, foreign sim card and cash – in a slim and organised folio.

Measuring 185 x 120 x 20 cm, the Bellroy Travel Folio will slip into a bag or pocket with ease, but ensure that no notes, bills or cards go astray in that last minute dash through the airport. 

Inside, the folio will hold two passports, up to eight cards, an integrated micro-pen, and space for flat bills of cash in hidden compartments. On the outside there is a new slip pocket in the updated edition – perfect for housing your boarding pass or tickets, so that they can be easily accessed without opening the wallet.

Made from premium environmentally certified leather, and RFID protected for peace of mind, the Folio is backed with a three year warranty, and guaranteed to go the distance.

Recipe – The Ultimate High Energy Flapjacks

This traditional flapjack recipe is packed full of energy for long days on the bike. The oats supply a great low-GI fuel source, while the dried fruit offers instant energy and sweetness. Whether on or off the bike, these flapjack bars are a great high-energy snack for cycling. You can adapt the recipe by adding in other dried fruit, seeds, nuts, and spices to make these even more varied and flavoursome. Review – TRP Spyre SLC Cable Disc Brakes

Cable actuated disc brakes get a lot of bad press. There is some justification for that — most of the systems lack the modulation and performance of their hydraulic counterparts. There is however one set of cable disc brakes that shines above the rest: the TRP Spyre SLC Disc Brake. This lightweight and sleek cable disc caliper excels in both design and functionality. My Kona Private Jake arrived in 2016 with a set of TRP's Spyre-C disc brakes fitted as standard. I ride a gravel bike on the Isle of Wight more than I ride any other; it is the perfect way to explore the vast network of quiet roads and exciting open trails. In this post, I have tailor-made a selection of the best gravel cycling routes on the Isle of Wight, with suggested pit-stops and highlights. The Isle of Wight roads, trails, and tracks are my home. I have toured all over the world, but whenever I come back to this small island off the South Coast of the UK I am amazed at how diverse and beautiful the riding is here.
