Keep it simple. That would be a good strapline for the BTR Waterproof Bicycle Handlebar Bag. This compact handlebar bag is designed to be a completely waterproof capsule that easily attaches to the handlebars of any road or mountain bike — to safely house your valuables and ride essentials.

For bikepacking trips, gravel adventures, and long road rides a small waterproof handlebar bag is a great idea — read my post 'What Is in Your Gravel Adventure Handlebar Bag?' to see what comes in mine. The BTR Waterproof Handlebar Bag is as simple, but as effective as they come; with an exceptionally fair price tag too.

The design is straightforward. The bag is 20 centimetres wide and made from durable waterproof fabric, with a classic roll-top closure to ensure that even the worst weather conditions cannot infiltrate the interior.

The bag attaches to the handlebars with three hook-and-loop (Velcro style) straps; two over the handlebars, and an extra strap that can go around the headtube of the bike. It is secure and stable even on off-road rides.

There is a removable shoulder strap to allow you to carry the bag off the bike, but aside from this there are very few bells-and-whistles — the design is KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid). The bag sits neatly on the handlebars without obscuring the front wheel, and offers the perfect place to stash your riding essentials. 

For longer rides and cycling adventures, this is a great little companion. It will go the distance and is available for a frankly unbeatable price of less than £20. A fantastic little bikepacking bag.

Recipe – The Ultimate High Energy Flapjacks

This traditional flapjack recipe is packed full of energy for long days on the bike. The oats supply a great low-GI fuel source, while the dried fruit offers instant energy and sweetness. Whether on or off the bike, these flapjack bars are a great high-energy snack for cycling. Review – TRP Spyre SLC Cable Disc Brakes

Cable actuated disc brakes get a lot of bad press. There is some justification for that — most of the systems lack the modulation and performance of their hydraulic counterparts. There is however one set of cable disc brakes that shines above the rest: the TRP Spyre SLC Disc Brake. This lightweight and sleek cable disc caliper excels in both design and functionality. I ride a gravel bike on the Isle of Wight more than I ride any other; it is the perfect way to explore the vast network of quiet roads and exciting open trails. In this post, I have tailor-made a selection of the best gravel cycling routes on the Isle of Wight, with suggested pit-stops and highlights. The Isle of Wight roads, trails, and tracks are my home.
