Review - Restrap Commute Rucksack
Made in Yorkshire, the Restrap bags collection has fast become a favourite of mine. The new Commute Rucksack is the latest addition to the range, and another superb piece of craftsmanship.
The Restrap frame bag, handlebar bag and seat pack, have been my touring luggage of choice for long distance self-supported trips like the 'Coasts and Cols' and the #7Countries7Passes. Their durable, robust and faultlessly engineered designs allow you to travel far, in confidence that your kit will go the distance.
For daily use, when things are a little less 'epic', Restrap have released their new 'Utility' range; which includes this beautifully made roll-top waterproof rucksack.
The Restrap Commute Rucksack focusses on the essentials, with the aim of delivering faultlessly on its intended use. Made from durable waterproof Cordura, with waterproof zippered pockets and a large roll-top closure; it will seal out the dirt and elements on the daily grind.
For storage, the Commute Rucksack can be compressed using the side straps, to tailor it to as little as 10 litres, or as much as 35 litres capacity. Pocketing comes in the form of an internal laptop sleeve, a front access zippered pocket, and a side access pocket that reaches into a sleeve pocket within the main compartment (you can access it through the main section or the side pocket).
The back panel is made from breathable aero mesh, and the shoulder straps are well-padded and comfortable; held together with a neat magnetic buckle chest strap. The harness system has proven to be very comfortable, and on both runs and rides into work, I can't complain of sore shoulders to accompany my sore legs at the finish.
Everything from the buckles to the straps and zippers - the highest level of quality, for the longest life.
This will be my rucksack of choice for many commutes and adventures to come...

Built with purpose
Roll-top rucksacks don't need to be extravagant, they need to work.
