Review – Vulpine Merino Henley Tee and Gravel Shorts

Vulpine Merino Tee and Gravel ShortsSome kit is exceptional. Clothing that goes straight back on as soon as it is out of the wash. Apparel that feels comfortable, looks great, and lasts for years. The London-based Vulpine brand makes kit like this…

Vulpine makes a range of technically advanced, intricately detailed, everyday cycling clothing; clothing that makes every bike ride a stylish and enjoyable experience—whether you are tripping across town or heading up into the hills on an adventure.

I have been testing out two of the pieces from their latest summer range: the Merino Henley T-shirt and the Vulpine Gravel Shorts.

Review — Vulpine Merino Henley T-shirt

The Henley tee is a classic British design and has become one of my favourite smart-casual summer tops. It is a little smarter than a standard tee but offers greater freedom of movement than a shirt or polo.

The Vulpine Merino Henley uses 100% pure merino wool, with a superfine weave—the result is a soft, stretchy, breathable, moisture-wicking, and naturally odour resistant layer.

The tee has been subtly styled to make it cycle-specific, including details like a lower cut rear hem and a rear button pocket with reflective stitch details.

Whether you are relaxing on the beach, riding through town, or exploring further afield—the Vulpine Merino Henley is soft, comfortable, smart and subtle. It is a fantastic piece of natural cycle clothing that is equally at home off the bike.

Review – Vulpine Gravel Shorts

To complement the Vulpine Merino Henley, the Vulpine Gravel Shorts are the perfect summer bottoms—offering a durable, stylish and functional pair of casual cycling shorts.

The Gravel Shorts are Vulpine's toughest and most versatile shorts, designed for the rigours of Gravel, but also suitable for city cruising, and beers in the pub.

The shorts are made from a 4-way stretch Ripstop cotton fabric, which is lightweight but hardwearing, and features a diamond gusset to take the wear and pressure off your seat bones without the chafe factor.

On the front of the shorts, there are practical deep pockets to complete a pair of rear welt pockets on the backside of the shorts. There is also a neat zippered coin pocket tucked away inside the right-hand thigh pocket—great for keeping that bakery cash safe!

In the Oxford blue colour scheme, the Vulpine Gravel Shorts look smart, but are also impressively robust and practical. I have worn them for lengthy commutes, fancy meals out, and trips to the beach.

A true do-everything piece of apparel, which is built to wear every day and built to last.
